syntax and linguistics

When you listen to the word "language", what you can describe about it?
Language is a system, to transfered information between human with agreement. Agreement means how we agree with the word that about our mean, and how we can understand with the word.. :)
For example :
Agreement in Indonesia.

What is syntax?

      Syntax : From Greek syntaxis from syn (together) + taxis (arrangement)

Who is the Father of Syntax?

      The dominant theory of syntax is due to Noam Chompsky (1950s). The theory is often called as generative grammar. It's talk about nature and nurture of human ability in grammar. Language and syntax are the part of the mind or brain that allows you to speak.

Language is a psychologycal or cognitive property of humans.

1. The study of the acoustics and articulation of speech is called Phonetics.

2. Then you analyze the sounds into syllables and pattern them appropriately, the science called phonology.

3. If you take these groups of souns and organize them into meaningful units (called morphemes) and word, it's learnt in Morphology.

4. Next you organize the words into phrases and sentences. It's learnt in Syntax.

5. Finally you take these sentences and phrases that you hear and translete them into thoughts and ideas. It refers to Semantics.

So, what is the differences of syntax vs grammar? 

Syntax is analyzing linguistics element, like phrase and sentence structure. They tell you the order im which to put your words.

But, Grammar is the study of language structural skill. Such as structure of sentences generally. Set of rules that generate language (morphology and syntax), both learn about structutes (rules).
